Big Moves For Gucci Mane

May 24, 2010

Gucci isnt only a free man from jail, but also from his managment. He has parted ways and is no longer affiated with Mizay Entertainment or Hitt Afta Hitt Enterprises. He’s not even affiliated with So Icey Entertainment! But don’t think thats it for Gucci, the Atlanta based rapper recently launched his new label 1017 Brick Squad Records with a new team of industry heavyweaights behind him. The label is already prepping new releases from Gucci, Wacka Flocka Flame Brick Squad, and a super group consisting of Gucci Mane, Wacka Flocka and Oj Da Juiceman. Gucci will serve as President & CEO of the label in addition to being the marquee artist, he restructured his team and signed an exclusive management deal with First Avenue Management, Inc. The real big news is that he has brought along powerhouse agency CAA, which represents artists such as Usher, Justin Bieber and Anthony Hamilton, to handle all booking and appearance scheduling. Gucci just may be big after all. Do we really want this to happen?

High Prices for Sex and the City 2

May 24, 2010

$70 to see a 2 hour movie that may not even be all what it’s cracked up to be?! I know what you guys are saying “Who in the hell would pay that much money to see a damn movie?” Well the Arclight Hollywood Theater in Los Angeles hopes that Sex and the City fans would. Here’s the catch, the theater is hosting a series od deluxe viewing parties for the glamour filled flick, turning a simple movie trip to the best damn girl’s night out! The $70 fee includes a pre-party pass held at the Hollywood theater, complete with Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica parker) appetizers and food, Sex and the City inspired drinks, and a very enthusiastic viewing of the film. I think that devoted Sex and the City fans (like myself) won’t let the drought of the economy stand betwen them and Ms. Carrie Bradshaw. Why would they? After all, it’s fashion.

Battle of the Bitches

May 24, 2010

While Alejandro is prepping for it’s video release, Lady Gaga has big things planned for this year. She recently announced a new leg for her positive reviewed “Monster Ball Tour”, 4 more singles to be released from her now platinum album (it’s really an EP) “The Fame Monster”, and over the weekend she stated that she’s also working on her third studio album which is due out later this year. If you thought that 2009 was the year of Gaga, get prepared to see alot more of her this year as well. The good side of all of this is that now she has competition. Beyonce, Christina Aguilera and my personal fav Britney Spears, and icon Janet Jackson, are all scheduled to release albums this year. I think it’s safe to announce that Bitch Fest 2010 is ready to take off but the reigning question is…who’s the baddest?

DMX Comes Clean

May 24, 2010

Incarcerated rapper Earl “DMX” Simmons will help re-launch VH1’s “Behind The Music” series next month by discussing his personal life from childhood to rap stardom. According to reports, DMX will be one of seven artists including Christina Aguilera, Eve, Courtney Love, Jennifer Hudson, Jennifer Lopez and Usher to help relaunch the popular Behind The Music series on VH1. DMX kicks off the series on Monday June 7 at 8:00 pm (7 central time). It will trace DMX’s journey from his rough childhood where violent beatings from his mother led to a life of crime and jail time, to becoming one of the most successful hip hop artists of today. Viewers will get an in-depth look at DMX’s battle to the top of the music charts, becoming the first hip-hop artist to have five consecutive records debut at number one and crossing over into a successful movie career. He also comes clean about his criminal record, love life and his 25 year-long struggle with drug addiction. 25 years? Just exactly how old is DMX and what type of drugs was/is he on? I have to watch this when it airs.

Ciara's Ride Is Cut Short

May 24, 2010

ilove Ciara, I’ve been a fan since Goodies and ihave all 3 of her albums, but Fantasy Ride wasn’t only a disappointment to me and other fans alike, but also a disappointment to her and her label as well. Though she’s going back to her Goodies and The Evolution days, it just really seems that her time is up. Over the weekend, I recieved word that BET has banned her new video “Ride” featuring Ludacris. What in the name of chicken wings and cupcakes did they do that for? They can play Trey Songz’ softcore porno’s, Rihanna’s X-rated army exploits (and demon worshiping), Beyonce’s cell phone snappin’ with Lady Gaga (I love that song but thats not the point) and many rap videos but not Ciara’s video? The only thing that’s a little to graphic in that video is the mechcanical bull…and you don’t even see that long ! If anyone should be playing her video it should def be BET. Even MTV and VH1 are giving her shine. I am very appalled and flabbergasted at all of this!
