The stars we’re out last night as the premeire of Sex and the City 2 hit New York City (and why wouldn’t it, thats where the show and the movie takes place). Everyone in the main cast looked great as usual, someone stole the SILVER carpet event. Sarah Jessica Parker (Carrie Bradshaw) stood out with her new yellow Valentino dress. This goes to show you that she really does have a sense of fashion. Maybe her and Carrie Bradshaw are more than just an actress portryaing a character with a passion for fashion. Its very seldome that you see Sarah Jessica Parker having a bad fashion day.
Last year was the year of vampires, 2008 was all about swag and 2007 has been forgotten. It seems that this year artists and fans alike are all feeling like creatures and alienish. RnB singer and songwriter Ne-Yo is a new passenger aboard this train. His new album entitled “Libra Scale” is set to be released in September and his first single “Beautiful Monster” premiered on myspace today. It will be available on iTunes and Amazon as a digital download on June 1st. A 21 second clip of the song was posted online yesterday and instantly my mind went directly to Gaga. The song reminds me of her song “Monster” from her 2nd studio album (which is really an EP) “The Fame Monster”. ican’t help but to dub Ne-Yo’s song as the male version to it, or a Part II even. If you are unfamiliar to Gaga’s song Monster check it out and then listen to Ne-Yo’s song and see if you can see some similarities or if you even like the direction hes going cuz idon’t.
It really seems that Ms. Aguliera can’t catch a break. Several of her songs already made their way online over the past few weeks, her 1st single “Not Myself Tonight” is failing on the Hot 100, and yesterday she stated that she is canceling her upcoming tour. If that wasn’t enough her entire album “Bionic” has been leaked online. My twitter timeline wuz going crazy and imust admit that ilike Christina Aguliera, and wuz anxious to hear it myself. After listening to it ican honestly say that I’m impressed. iwas very skeptical on how the album would turn out, but iwas wrong. What ican say is that I’m almost sure that the album may be pushedback to put “unheard” material on it. Either way, I 4 one can’t wait until it’s offically released.
It’s been over 10 years but we are finally getting what we’ve been asking for. Lauryn Hill is ready to make a comeback ! Now before we get to happy let’s all cross our fingers and dot our I’s and hope that this really happens. Reports state that she is set to perform at this summer;s annual Rock The Bells festival in Southern California. She shall be signing the epic and very much so iconic tracks off of her epic and greatly iconic album “the Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill” for the crowd. The organizers haven’t confirmed or denied whether she will take the stage. ireally hope she does. I am a big fan of her’s and she’s really been gone too long. Did imention that A Tribe Called Quest is also rumored to appear there as well? This year in music is defently gonna give the real HipHop and RnB lovers what the’ve ben longing for since this decade started. ican’t say that iblame them…you…whatever.
When ithink of Rihanna, ithink of a box of leaves. She’s great 2 look at (leaves are too) but she doesn’t strike me as something that will last long or that really does anything (at leaves can move when the wind blows). And though i’m not a fan of rihcession…imean Rihanna, some of her songs are catchy like her new single “Rockstar 101” which features famed guitar player Slash. The music video premiered today on VEVO and imust say that I’m dissappointed. iwas expecting flashing lights, hotel parties, and alot of shirtless guys. All igot was demonic images, her gigantic 4head, and Travis Barker (ilike travis barker so yay!). It seems like all of her videos from this album with an exception of “Rude Boy”. This just goes to prove my theory that she is pyscho. Every since that Disturbia video, iknew something wasnt right about her, but idigress. If u aren’t a fan and your not interested in the song then try to stay away from both Mainstream and Rhythmic radio stations on June 1st.
