Rapper LUPE FIASCO is taking legal action to find the person responsible for ruining his Christmas (Dec09) and leaking his new song online.
The Superstar hitmaker was furious to learn his track I’m Beaming had been illegally posted on the internet on Wednesday (23Dec09), before he had even put the finishing touches on the tune.
Fiasco took to his online blog on Christmas Eve (24Dec09) to blast the thief who “stole” his music, begging fans not to download the song.
He writes, “The track ‘I’m Beaming’ that was leaked last night was NOT authorised or intentionally leaked by myself or my company.
“Plain and simple its STOLEN property. And this goes for ANY record or track that leaks or is made available for illegal download from this day forward… Actions are being taken and the authorities have been notified.
“As a personal plea to all my fans PLEASE DO NOT share, stream, or download any unauthorised or stolen Lupe Fiasco music. A lot of time and energy goes into the creation of this music, not to mention large sums of money, money provided by my record company as well as from my own personal finances…
“I’m sure some of you can understand why this very harsh stance that is (sic) being taken up. And for those of you unsympathetic enough not to understand I can only compare it to someone breaking into your house and stealing everything not tied down or someone kidnapping your sister or brother and ransoming them back to you.”
I’m Beaming was expected to be included on Fiasco’s upcoming third album, Lasers, which is set for release in early 2010. #ShoutOut Contact Music
