Just one week ago when Birdman announced Wayne’s upcoming rock album Rebirth was pushed back to be released in February 2010, Santa brings us fans an early Xmas present.
A distributor under Amazon.com has accidentally released the album which is not supposed to be out for another 2 months. Perhaps it was because of the six date changes or the confusing statements of Birdman, many lucky customers who had the album pre-ordered were happy to open their mailbox to a rare actual Lil Wayne album. Many customers, who pre-ordered the album, have commented on the Amazon site whether or not they received the album or not. Amazon has not yet released a statement about the incident but have predicted that 500 copies of the album were delivered.
While some lucky ones received the album today, all the albums that were on their way are being shipped back to Amazon. If you are not one of the few customers who received the premature shipped album, you can enjoy his newest track with Eminem HERE.
Lil Wayne is the latest in Hip-Hop to continue the trend of album push backs. Fans eager for a new Lil Wayne record will be thrilled to know that his rock debut, Rebirth, has been pushed back…once again.
As previously reported, the album was supposed to hit stores December 15 and reportedly as a double disc with his Young Money family. Those plans were scrapped however and the albums were set to be released separately.
Now unfortunately for stans of team Wayne, they’ll have to wait till February to cop the ambitious new project.
Followers of Lil Wayne know this is not the first time Rebirth has been shelved. Originally the album was set to hit stores in April but was then pushed back to May and then finally to its December 15 release.
His daddy, Baby confirmed the third push back for the project via Twitter. Baby confirmed that while Wayne’s project was on hold, the Young Money album was still set for a December release saying,
“Rebirth album pushback Feb. 1 YoungMoney cmin out Dec. 21 Yadig YM CMB”.

Lil Wayne’s first rock-themed album “Rebirth” has got an official tracklisting which is obtained via Amazon U.K. site. Twelve songs appear on the list with Eminem, Kevin Rudolf, Nicki Minaj and Shanell set to lend their vocal.
The album is slated to be released across United States on December 21. It will be made available for purchase as a single disc, not paired with Young Money’s compilation album “We Are Young Money” as it was previously claimed.
“Prom Queen”, the first single off the record, has been released since late January. Featuring heavy use of Auto-Tune, the song rose to number 15 on Billboard Hot 100 and charted at number 16 on Billboard Bubbling Under R&B/Hip-Hop Singles despite its rock genre.
Beside prepping to release his own album, Lil Wayne has also hit studio with “Gossip Girl” star Leighton Meester, collaborating in a song called “Make It Rain”.
